Avenues Group is a charity specialising in supporting people with learning disability, autism and complex needs to enjoy full, active lives. We provide supported living, residential care and outreach services across Kent, London, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Shropshire. We believe in community-based support and that everyone should have the opportunity to play an active part in where they live. Avenues is currently looking for Support Workers in the Dover area for a brand new supported living service in the village of St Margaret’s at Cliffe. The new Chalkway service will support up to six people in purpose-built accommodation within a large architect-designed development complete with landscaped gardens. Chalkway Supported Living and landscaped grounds Chalkway Architect and builder Rod Springett’s daughter Johanna will be one of the people living there. He says, “This supported living is definitely our daughter and her fellow residents’ home for life, and we’re looking for people who can rise to that challenge to help create that lovely experience for them.” For mum Flo, it’s an opportunity for Jo to have her own space, “This is about creating a better quality of life for people that maybe up till now haven’t really fulfilled their greatest potential”. You’ll be joining a brand new team, so it’s a chance to come in from the start and shape the service. Experience is welcome and so is empathy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Avenues knows that well supported people support people well and we offer comprehensive training accredited by Skills for Care. As well as building a rewarding career with us, you can earn at least £21k with the opportunity to gain qualifications.
