Built in the mid 19th Century Fort Burgoyne is Dover's Sleeping Giant, the Fort's West Wing has recently been landscaped and made accessible with the added bonus that views over Dover Town and Harbour are best described as 'Commanding'. As well as being able to explore the Wing there will be performances from both Dover Youth Theatre and Dover Tales as well as an opportunity to experience the newly installed Sound Installation designed by Emily Peasgood.

The rejuvenated, landscaped West Wing of Dover's Victorian Fort Burgoyne will be opened on Sunday March 26th, for the first of a series of planned events at the Wing across the summer months.

Whilst work continues at the main fort to bring that back into Community use the West Wing, which boasts commanding view across the town and harbour, offers a contained performance area itself consisting of several smaller areas, one of which is completely undercover.

There are, currently, 3 separate opportunities to visit on March 26th, each lasting 90 minutes and starting at 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00.

The Midday event will include a performance by Sound Waves Choir while Dover Youth Theatre will perform at the 2pm event.

There will also be an opportunity to experience the sound installation 'I Would Rather Walk With You', by Emily Peasgood, which will receive its, private, premiere the previous day while a sound and light installation by Paul Cheneour and Annie Catford will run throughout.

In addition White Cliffs Countryside Partnership will be participating in the events as will Get Out Get Active, a programme to support disabled and non-disabled people in enjoying being active together and the mental health charity MIND who are about to open a drop in centre in Dover.

Dover Tales will also offer a number of relevant, informative and entertaining, pieces across the day.

Admission to all events is free of charge and while the 10am event is now fully subscribed bookings for both the 12:00 and 14:00 events are still available online at:
