A FAMILY ESTATE
Brook Bridges purchased the Goodnestone Park in 1704, and not long after this, he built the main house. The estate has passed through the family, and the marriage of Sir Brook Bridges 3rd to Fanny Fowler saw the introduction of the links to the Fitzwalter peerage to which Miss Fowler was a co-heiress. Currently, the estate is owned and run by Julian Fitzwalter, 22nd Baron, and his son, Edward Plumptre.
