MESSAGE FROM VOLUNTEER WARDEN SHELAGH WRIGHT

Kent Wildlife Trust

Kent Wildlife Trust are looking for volunteers . . .

Looking for an excuse to spend more time outside this spring and beyond? Check out these great volunteering opportunities to immerse yourself in nature:

RiverSearcher: The H2O:Source2Sea project is seeking volunteers to take part in a new Citizen Science project to monitor the health of our freshwater ecosystems. Volunteers will collect invaluable information about river health by adopting a stretch of river and collecting data on water quality, habitat condition and pollution sources once a month.

Livestock Checker: Do you live in the Dover area? We need people who love walking and are happy being out in all weathers to keep an eye on a range of livestock once a week. 🐮 Here is the schedule we're recruiting for:
Dover Castle – Monday, Thursday
Old Park Hill – Thursdays
Nemo Down – Thursday, Friday, Saturday

If either of these roles sounds right for you, find out more information and apply at www.kentwildlifetrust.org.uk/volunteering-opportunities.

Together, we can create a Wilder Kent.

That would be so helpful! Ask people to email volunteering@kentwildlife.org.uk

I do hope this post might inspire some of you to join the teams of volunteers who, like me, venture out in all weathers to ensure the wellbeing of the livestock on our Kent Nature Reserves.

The Temple Ewell and Lydden Roadside Nature Reserves Conservation Group have started back on Tuesdays between 10am and 3pm.

To join us on our tasks or clearing grass, shrubs for butterflies, flowers, bees etc. call Bob Newington on 01304 827138.

We also have Sunday tasks once a month from 10am to 4pm in the Dover area.

New volunteers are welcome, so come and join us.

Online talk regarding the CHOUGH. Thursday 30 March 2023 between 6-7 pm. Price £5.
