We are a local, friendly club for amateur and ‘armchair’ gardeners of all ages. Our members’ interests include growing fruit, vegetables, plants and flowers, home produce, crafts, floral art and Photography.

We hold a number of shows each year in River Village Hall which are open to all members, with separate sections in the shows for children. New members are always welcome.

Come and join us and make some new friends. Hope we see you soon.

River Gardeners’ Association are working hard to encourage the gardeners of tomorrow.

We have made strong links with River Primary School where teachers run a gardening club. We were delighted to receive some art work from the children which was displayed at all our show in 2018.

We have also invited all the local Preschools to participate in a fun, free Sunflower Growing competition which River Gardeners’ have sponsored. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest Sunflower head, which will be judged at our up-coming Autumn Show.

We also encourage Children to participate in our specialist ‘Children’s section of our Shows, with fun and quick artwork and exhibits to make.

Spring Show.

23rd March 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy our annual Spring Show, happening on Saturday 23rd March in River Village Hall.

You can enter for free from 14:00 and treat yourself to some delicious home-baked cakes, drinks and raffle tickets.

You will be amazed by the Seasonal exhibits we have on display!

Timetable:

9:00 to 10:45am – Bring your entries and set them up.

11:00am – The judges will start their work

2:00pm – The show is open to the public.

03:30 – 4:00pm (Estimated) – Awards ceremony, auction, raffle.

Our club treasurer, John, has decided to retire from his position after 40+ years of service. We are grateful for his service and dedication to the club over the years.

However, this leaves us with a significant problem. Without a treasurer, we will be unable to manage the club's finances effectively. This could lead to serious consequences, including the closure of the club.

We are therefore urgently seeking a replacement for our outgoing treasurer. If you or someone you know has experience in basic financial management and would be interested in taking on this role, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

Please note that the deadline for applications is 17th September 2023. If we do not find a suitable candidate by this date, an Extraordinary General Meeting will need to be organized to decide the future of the Club.
