Shepherdswell History 2022

Saturday 3rd of September 11:30am—3pm

Shepherdswell Village Hall—Free Entry

This year's theme is Pubs and Alehouses of the Parish.

There will be information and photographs of all the drinking establishments that have at one time been here.

In keeping with the theme there will be a small bar selling Real Ale, courtesy of the Carpenters Arms, as well as the opportunity to have a traditional Ploughman's Lunch.

There are 2 types of ticket available for the lunch, they are "The Ploughman's" and "The Ploughman's +". The Ploughman's + comes with a pint of Ale. You can choose to either have cheese (traditional) or ham. Tickets must be ordered in advance and are priced at £6.50 and £10. To reserve your lunch you can purchase tickets at the T42 Cafe, call 01304 832143 or email keithbryanroberts@gmail.com

We are also helping the Shepherdswell W.l. celebrate their 100th anniversary and there will be plenty of rarely seen photos and articles on display.

There will be talks at:

• 12:30 The History of Local Pubs by Paul Skelton

• 1:15 The Shepherdswell Temperance Movement

• 1:45 100 Years of the W.l. in Shepherdswell

• 2:15 A selection of old time pub songs performed by the Swell Singers.

Teas, coffee and cake will also be available, as well as a raffle to win a large hamper of goodies.

Join us on a journey of discovery as we travel the past through our parish.
